The Moore Charitable Foundation Launches New Website

Founded in 1992, The Moore Charitable Foundation focuses land and water conservation, primarily in Colorado, New York, and North Carolina. The non-profit foundation was set-up by billionaire hedge fund manager and lifelong conservationist Louis Bacon in order to support organizations that work to preserve and protect hundreds of thousands of acres of land and water which is environmentally sensitive.  By providing funding to local, regional, and national projects The Foundation looks for organizations which share its core mission ideas and gives preference to those with the most innovative ways to further land and habitat conservation and protection of imperiled species. It also looks to collaborate land efforts with keeping bays, rivers, oceans and other water systems healthy.

The new Moore Foundation website has more information about The Foundation, along with information on Louis Bacon and the rest of the executive staff. There is latest news surrounding the grants, including progress on projects, and you can get an overview of current conservation activities happening across the US and supported by The Foundation.

Businessman and Philanthropist Louis Bacon has long supported conservation projects, both through his foundation and also through his own personal involvement with other projects. He has pledged to donate 90,000 acres of his Trinchera Blanca Ranch to the Sangre de Cristo Conservation Area project.

The website has photographs of conservation sites that The Foundation have given grants to, including Colorado Open Lands, Riverkeeper on the Hudson River, and the Rio Grande Watershed in San Luis Valley. The redesign means that the website is much easier to navigate, and through images it highlights the key areas that The Foundation focuses on. Those interested in conservation can keep up to date with progress on current projects, and grants awarded to new projects - The Foundation doesn't accept applications for grants.
