Louis Bacon To Converse More Land

The proposed preservation project Sangre de Cristo, which spans both Colorado and New Mexico has been given a much needed boost from billionaire hedge fund manager Louis Bacon.  In the single biggest donation in US history it forms the foundation for the conservation area, and should the US Department of the Interior accept and declare this land as conserved area Mr Bacon has also pledged to place his Colorado based Trinchera Ranch.

Hedge The Fort Garland ranch is 172,000 acres, more than half of which is situated on the protected land area. He has 82,000 acres outside of the proposed conservation area, but will add this to the land mass that will be protecting the various fish and wildlife that live and thrive on the area.

The land in questions has vast stretches of high desert shrubs, grasslands, alpine tundra and forest. Mr Bacon has a deep commitment to conservation, and this recent donation will ensure that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service can protect the diverse species of fish and wildlife that exist there and in no other place in America.

When the protection order comes into effect it will prevent the Sangre de Cristo land, including the Trinchera Ranch, from being developed.
